“Brown University, in tandem with the Rhode Island Department of Health, forms a powerful duopoly of denial controlling state policy and ‘acceptable’ discourse on covid-19 vaccine injury,”

As Brown University, the Rhode Island Ivy League college, continues to enforce COVID-19 vaccine mandates for all students and faculty, including incoming students for the 22/23 academic year, evidence has come to light that at least one of their students was admitted to hospital with a severe reaction to his Covid-19 vaccination in March 2021.
Dr. Andrew Bostom, MD, an academic clinical trialist and epidemiologist, who is currently a Research Physician at the Brown University Center for Primary Care and Prevention of Kent-Memorial Hospital in Rhode Island, uncovered the startling news that a Brown student suffered a serious adverse reaction to Covid-19 vaccination during a conversation with a former colleague, a cardiologist.
“It was almost like a confession,” says Dr. Bostom. “The information just came tumbling out of him.”
The 20-year-old male student was admitted to the Miriam Hospital on March 22, 2021, with symptoms of myopericarditis, an acknowledged and known serious side effect of Covid-19 vaccinations. Dr. Bostom’s colleague remarked during a conversation that during his time on-call, he had consulted on several myocarditis patients and that one was a Brown University student.
He had been vaccinated ahead of his cohort because he was a volunteer at the Miriam hospital. Listen to the following audio of that call:
While inquiries made by this reporter to cardiologists at the Miriam hospital went unanswered, Dr. Bostom was able to confirm the existence of this Brown University patient by cross-referencing the VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) database and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) discharge database information, both of which showed a 20-year-old white male, Florida resident, in March 2021.
This particular patient stands out from the thousands of other adverse event reports because of his age at the time of vaccination. The state of Rhode Island did not make vaccines available to the 16+ age group until April 19th, 2021, and then only with a limited supply.
“Given that this happened in the middle of the semester, I find it almost impossible to imagine that Brown was not aware of this case. After all, it’s likely that the student was not able to return to full-time class. I wonder if academic accommodation had to be made for him?” says Dr. Bostom, who once ran the largest clinical trial ever on kidney transplant recipients.
And yet, Brown University President Christina Paxson and Russell Carey, an administrator, continued to forge ahead with their vaccine mandate for students, despite almost certainly knowing the damage that had already been done to one of their own. In mid-May 2021, the University launched its vaccination campaign and continues to enforce a vaccine mandate, despite now being aware of this student’s vaccine-induced myocarditis. An administrator from the Communications department at Brown responded to emails to Paxson and Carey and refused to answer questions on this subject. Calls were not returned.
To this day, Brown students and employees are required to have received a double dose of a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or a single dose of the Janssen vaccine, as well as a booster shot, to attend university. This, in the face of undeniable evidence that these injections can cause serious harm to young people, particularly young males below the age of 40, where the risk of myocarditis from the vaccine, especially after a booster shot, is more common than getting myocarditis post-infection. Current figures reported to July 15th in the OpenVAERS database shows more than 50,000 reports of myocarditis and pericarditis. In contrast, the University of Rhode Island and Providence College have both abandoned their vaccine mandates.
“Brown University, in tandem with the Rhode Island Department of Health, forms a powerful duopoly of denial controlling state policy and ‘acceptable’ discourse on covid-19 vaccine injury,” writes Dr. Bostom in an article for the Brownstone Institute. “Frank, open discussion of the Brown student vaccine-injury myopericarditis case and the larger issue of serious covid-19 vaccine-injury, especially among the vast swath of young, healthy Rhode Islanders, invulnerable to severe covid illness, is verboten. The baleful Brown-RIDOH duopoly enforces that silence.”
According to Dr. Bostom, if information like this had been circulated in early 2021, and clear, honest conversations on questions of risk-reward had occurred, then the case of University of Tennessee NCAA golfer John Stokes may never have occurred. The NCAA required Stokes to get vaccinated to continue playing golf. He was not informed of the potentially severe side effects of vaccination and, in September 2021, was admitted to the hospital with myocarditis. His athletic career may now be over. His story is just one among many thousands of elite athletes pressured into vaccination to continue to pursue their sporting goals.
As reports of severe adverse effects and death tolls pursuant to vaccination for Covid-19 continue to rise worldwide, why are institutes of higher education continuing to insist that their vulnerable populations be vaccinated when the risk of severe illness and death due to the disease is negligible?
